Bexhill Neighbourhood Board were delighted to welcome Government advisor Emily Attwood, from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to Bexhill on Tuesday 28 October.
Abi Newbury, Chair of Bexhill Neighbourhood Board gave Emily a tour of the town centre and promenades so that she could see first-hand some of the areas where Bexhill could benefit from improvements. Emily also discussed with several members of the Board how the £20 million in funding over 10 years can best be spent to promote Bexhill as a great place to live, work and visit.
The Bexhill Neighbourhood Board Chair, Abi Newbury FCA, said:
“It was a real pleasure to show Emily around our beautiful town on Tuesday. The Neighbourhood Board has Bexhill deep in its heart. Hearing and responding to the many different perspectives of business and community is a difficult job, but we are committed to using this funding to making Bexhill a better place for our future prosperity and wellbeing of all everyone in the town. We are so proud of the reputation we are gaining for positive partnership and that central Government recognise this.”
The programme which was previously titled Plan for Neighbourhoods has been renamed by Sir Kier Starmer as the Pride in Place Programme. The programme will still be based on engagement with local people, businesses including estate agents and community organisations.
In the meantime, thank you very much for your continuing support and interest in the Bexhill Neighbourhood Board.
