Name check for Bexhill Pride in Place Programme in Prime Minister’s speech
Bexhill Neighbourhood Board Chair Abi Newbury attended the Prime Minister’s Pride in Place speech on Thursday 05 February 2026. Abi also met Steve Reed, the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government.
The Prime Minister spoke about the power of the Pride in Place Programme. He highlighted how pride in places can support communities such as Bexhill to invest in growth and reach its potential by bringing communities together and fuelling a sense of community pride. He directly referenced the Pride in Place Programme (PiPP) in Bexhill stating, “…lets regenerate the town centre in Bexhill…” 1 Out of the 284 neighbourhoods receiving PiPP funding, this is a massive shout out for Bexhill.
After the PM’s speech, Abi took the opportunity to speak with Secretary of State Steve Reed, highlighting how positive the funding is for Bexhill, and the benefits of collaborative working under the Pride in Place Programme.
