Joe Powell
I have been Rother District Council’s (RDC’s) Head of Service for Housing and Regeneration since April 2023. The role includes the oversight of several teams including Homelessness, Housing Management and Regeneration, as well as the Council’s commercial and operational Estates team. I joined RDC in 2018 and have previously been the head of service for various Council services.
I started my career in the private sector as a manager within the catering and retail sectors, culminating in a spell running my own retail business locally. I then embarked on a career in the housing and homelessness sectors, working in the third sector supporting vulnerable households and individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
I have a strong personal commitment to public service, and I am confident that the Council can work with Bexhill Town Council and its other local partners to successfully meet its obligations as the accountable body for the Long-Term Plan for Towns funding.
Bexhill is a vibrant and diverse community with plenty of exciting opportunities for growth, development, and regeneration. The Town Board is an exciting, once in a generation opportunity, to achieve genuine transformative change for residents and businesses of Bexhill and visitors alike.
